Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
